We can hardly believe it!!! Today at 3:00 p.m. we received Joy's Visa at the US Embassy! It took a total of about 10-15 minutes (which in itself in a miracle... we can't hardly cross the street here that fast). In the picture at left, Jeanine and Joy are celebrating as we walk back to the apartment.Bottom line: we are now free to go to America! All the documents have been processed. All the money has been paid (well, except for the credit card expenses). We are frozen. And we are VERY READY to be home! We leave here early Friday morning, January 22!
Thank you for reading this blog and for walking along this journey with us in prayer during the ups, downs, surprises, and blessings. We have many emotions, thoughts and feelings about our experience here -- but the predominant one is thankfulness. Thankful to the Lord and thankful to each one who has helped and supported us at home and here in Ukraine.
We hope our experiences will stand as a testimony to God's faithfulness and serve as an encouragement to anyone who senses that God is leading them to take some steps of faith. Of course, as we said at the outset, we know that our own journey with Joy is just beginning!

So looking forward to seeing and hugging you!! Don't forgoet to let them know at immigration (at LAX) that you are American citizens. You get to go to the front of the line...insist on it. It can be an extremely long wait otherwise. Brenna is so excited to have a new 5th grade friend. Love, P&S

We wanted to share with you how touched we were by your blog...our own adoption process had been quite an "adventure" already, but your experience has made this very real for us--we will finally be a family very soon! (Dima comes to visit Oct. 8th for three weeks, then we're scheduled to go to the Ukraine in November.) Thank you for your hopeful postings, it has been a blessing to us already! (Both Tim and I were in tears after reading your entries.) :o)
